Jesse: In Memoriam

Misty-eyed we hearken to tidings of dread

Of your demise

‘Tis true?

Bird plummets from the sky, breaches the ocean’s surface

Her arms welcome you

We protest

Unbelief permeates the thoughts

Could it really be?

The city, indeed, the country, shudders at the possibility

Of a comet losing its blazing glory

Momentarily there, a blink

In the dark firmament

No, you’re not gone

You reached in, and reached out

Each flower in the garden you touched

They bloom

Sunlight caresses, rain kisses, wind lulls

When they awake, they sway

You watered, they thrive

You withered, they live

Gravity is defied yet again

Heaven awaits

Bravo, Jesse
