With calculated resolute the birds fly

Towards the horizon

Where clouds bathed in flaming orange

Beautifully painted

On a canvas of an obliging sky

Gather around the setting sun

They flap their wings in haste

As if not wanting to lose sight

Of the last faint light of day

O what a spectacle is such sight

Where Day and Night

Are perfectly juxtaposed

Where they find themselves

As circadian partners

In a gentle dance of two

A duo of great creations

Bequeathed by the Great Creator

The sun takes its respite

And yields the firmament

To the moon and the stars

As they blithely prepare

To assume their appointed arrays

Sit beside me now

And together let us behold

This breathtaking display

Of one of God’s infinite wonders
